Freshman Move-In Day at Shorter University!
Shorter University welcomed its newest class of freshmen with joy and anticipation. Families were greeted by volunteers from across campus and the community, with praise and prayer offered before students arrived. The outpouring of support created a memorable start to their college journey.
Shorter University alumnus Matthew Ackley is bringing his rebranded ice cream business to more neighborhoods and events with the launch of a new mobile unit. The Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce celebrated the expansion with a ribbon cutting on August 8, welcoming community members to enjoy ice cream and see the new service in action.
Shorter University’s School of Education recently hosted its Clinical Practice Orientation for the 2025–2026 student teachers, launching the year with the theme “Road Trip: The Adventure Begins.” The day featured meaningful planning time with professors and mentor teachers, alumni guest speakers, and guidance from Dean Dr. Dana King. Students even kicked off their journey with photos in front of a classic 1965 Mustang, symbolizing the exciting road ahead.
