A Word of Welcome from the Provost
It is a distinct privilege for me to offer greetings on behalf of the faculty of Shorter University. Our mission is to advance God’s Kingdom through a commitment to academic excellence within the context of a biblical worldview. Our highly qualified professors are dedicated to individualized attention to students, helping them to acquire the scholarship and to develop the spiritual judgment necessary to succeed in a multifaceted and rapidly changing world. Furthermore, students at Shorter are afforded the opportunity to gain valuable insights into themselves and into the diverse people groups of the world from a distinctively Christian perspective.
Shorter University faculty members are Christian educators who truly care about the personal well-being of their students and understand that teaching is done not only through classroom instruction but also by example. Our faculty members view their responsibilities as ministry, rather than a job or profession; they seek to prepare students for a calling, not just a career. Our goal is to provide a quality Christian education through the various academic disciplines that will prepare graduates for leadership and service grounded in scriptural principles.
Please feel free to contact me or any member of the Shorter University family with any questions you may have about our educational programs and services.
Sincerely,

Donald L. Martin, Jr.
