The School of Fine and Performing Arts

is one of the finest arts schools in the Southeast. Our programs have helped create successful and internationally recognized musicians, actors, and artists. Our art, music, and theatre departments enjoy a low student-to-faculty ratio, offering students a conservatory-style education rooted in the liberal arts. Performance opportunities abound, beginning as early as the freshman year.

PIANO PROGRAM PROJECT

Shorter University has a distinguished history of training quality pianists as soloists, collaborative pianists, church musicians, and teachers. In order to continue this tradition, we have initiated the Piano Program Project.

Greetings from Shorter University and the School of Fine and Performing Arts! Nestled high on a hill in Rome, Georgia, our campus is private and picturesque.  Students travel here from all over the world to study music, art, theatre, and dance.  Shorter students study with professors, not graduate assistants.  Our professors hold terminal degrees from prestigious universities and are eager to share that knowledge and experience with all of our students. We have a low student-to-faculty ratio allowing us the freedom to focus on each individual.

Whether your plans include teaching high school band or choir, singing at the Metropolitan Opera, or running a private piano studio, we can help you achieve your goal.   At Shorter, we care about our students and are committed from the practice room to the final performance.  Our alums are successfully teaching, performing, and leading in their respective communities.

We invite you to campus to experience the excitement for yourself!  You can arrange a meeting with admission counselors, shadow a current student for a day, or audition for one of our many scholarships or ensembles. Apply today by clicking on the links for the music or theatre application. We look forward to meeting you and helping you take your next step in your chosen career!

All my best,
Tara Warfield, D.M.A.
