Eta Pi Sigma is the student club for all students interested in History and Political Science. Membership is open to all members of the Shorter community and anyone interested, regardless of major, is encouraged to join, although officers of the club must be history or political science majors.
The purpose of Eta Pi Sigma is “to promote the exchange of ideas – between local historians and members; to promote awareness of political events, through speakers from political fields; to stimulate interest in the field of history and to acquire knowledge of current happenings in the field; to organize visits to historical and political attractions; and to organize and sponsor speakers from political and historical fields.”
Field Trips
Eta Pi Sigma also travels to places of historical or political interest. Trips include local Rome historical sites, the Atlanta History Center, the Martin Luther King Center, Civil War battlefields, and the Georgia State Capitol.
