The Shorter Symphonic Winds is offered each semester and offers opportunities for students to perform standard and contemporary concert band repertoire. Conducted by Dr. Duane Warfield, Director of Bands, the Symphonic Winds performs two formal concerts on campus each year in addition to special occasions on and off campus.
All students at Shorter University, regardless of major, are eligible and welcome to participate in the band program. The band program benefits students of varying degrees of talent, aiding those who are looking toward a career in music as well as those for whom music will be an enriching avocation.
