Dr. Heath Hooper, dean of Shorter University’s Ledbetter College of Business, was honored by his undergraduate alma mater for outstanding career achievement.
Hooper was one of 10 alumni honored by Reinhardt University for achievements made within ten years of graduation. The award was presented by Reinhardt’s president, Dr. Kina Mallard, during the university’s homecoming awards dinner.
“It is an honor to be recognized for my accomplishments since graduating from Reinhardt,” Hooper said. “My time at Reinhardt allowed me to mature as an individual and laid the groundwork for my career. Furthermore, I am beyond grateful to Shorter University for instilling the confidence in me and allowing me the opportunity to pursue my goals.”
A member of Shorter University’s faculty since 2012, Hooper leads the Ledbetter College of Business, which offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing and Sport Management as well as the Master of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy programs.
He holds the Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies from Reinhardt College, a Master of Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University – Irvine, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Sport Management from Northcentral University. He previously served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Reinhardt University and Young Harris College.
He lives in Rome with his wife, AnnMarie Hooper, a first-grade teacher at Main Elementary. They attend The Church at Rome.
