The Ben and Ollie Brady School of Nursing provides students with a unique learning environment focused on meeting identified professional and personal goals. Our accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program offers five semesters of full-time study, including a required international study abroad. The nursing program goes hand-in-hand with our mission as a Christian university to serve and minister to the needs of others.
In response to the growing need and demand for health care professionals, Shorter University added the Bachelor of Science in Nursing to its list of strong academic programs in 2009. Registered nurses (RNs) constitute the largest health care occupation with over 2.7 million nurses employed nationwide. Registered nurses are in great demand. The nursing shortage is predicted to intensify as the population grows older and their need for health care changes. Employment of registered nurses is projected to grow much faster than the average for other occupations in the next decade. This is related to the increasing emphasis on preventive care, higher rates of chronic conditions, and growing demand for health care services from the aging baby boomer population.
As Dean of the Ben and Ollie Brady School of Nursing at Shorter University, I look forward to meeting prospective students, families, friends, and community partners. The faculty, staff, and administration support the nursing program and are dedicated to excellence in education within a Christ centered learning environment.
Our accredited nursing program provides students with unique learning experiences focused on meeting students’ professional and personal goals.
