Graduate Admissions Requirements - Shorter University

Concentrations:

  • Sport Management
  • Healthcare Management

Requirements:

  • Official College Transcripts from each previous institution.
  • Resume
  • Cover Letter “200 words or more introducing oneself to the graduate council.”
  • Two Professional Reference Letters “Employer, Previous Supervisor, Professor, Pastor”
  • Last 60 hours of student’s undergraduate degree must be a 2.75 or higher.

Non- Business Graduates:

  • Student must complete BUS 3580 Business Statistics or a course equivalent before beginning graduate level course work.
  • Course can be completed after admission in Shorter University’s Online program.

  Non-Accounting Graduates: Students must complete the following pre-requisite courses prior to beginning graduate level course work. Course can be completed after admission in Shorter University’s Online program.

  • ACC 2010 Accounting 1
  • ACC 2020 Accounting 2
  • ACC 3110 Intermediate Accounting 1
  • ACC3120 Intermediate Accounting 2
  • ACC 4020 Auditing

Requirements:

  • Official College Transcripts from each previous institution.
  • Last 60 hours of student’s undergraduate degree must be a 2.5 or higher.
  • Three Professional Reference Letters “Employer, Previous Supervisor, Professor, Pastor”
  • Passing GACE PAA Score
  • Passing GACE Content score

Students can waive the GACE PAA if they have an ACT or SAT score that meets the following:

  • ACT: English and Math combined 43 or higher,
  • SAT: Critical Reading and Math combined 1000 or higher.

Students may also waive their GACE Content for admission if they have earned a certain number of credit hours in the subject they are wishing to teach. Official Transcripts will be evaluated by the School of Education. Additional Documents:
