Shorter University’s Sport Management Program Ranked Highly in Three Separate Rankings
Rome, Ga. – Shorter University’s Online Degree Program in Sport Management has been ranked highly by three separate ranking organizations, according to recently released rankings.
TheBestColleges.org placed Shorter’s program in the No. 2 spot on its list of the Top 5 Online Associate in Sports Management Programs for 2017. CollegeChoice.net ranked Shorter at No. 9 on its list of Best Online Sport Management Degrees. BestCollegeReviews.org ranks the university at No. 14 on in its 2017-18 rankings of the Top 15 Sport Management Degree Programs Online (Bachelor’s).
Shorter University President Dr. Don Dowless said that the rankings for Shorter’s Sport Management program are among several recent recognitions for the university’s academic programs. “We are gratified that external sources are highlighting the excellence of our degree programs and academic offerings. Sport Management is a fast-growing field, and we are pleased to be recognized for our high-quality, affordable, Christ-centered program in this field.”
“It is a great honor for the Shorter University Ledbetter College of Business Sport Management program to be so widely recognized for excellence,” added Dr. Heath Hooper, Dean of Shorter’s Robert H. Ledbetter College of Business. “We’re seeing positive momentum; for example, in the Best College Reviews ranking, we moved from ranking No. 24 out of the top 30 to #14 in one year. It truly shows a testament to our Sport Management faculty and students.”
Dr. Hooper added that Shorter’s Sport Management faculty are committed to continuing to provide a high level of excellence. “Department Chair Bob Stinchcomb, Assistant Professor Lauren Duplantis, along with myself, all take great pride in offering the best program and experience for our students,” Dr. Hooper said. “Our online students, even though not studying in a traditional setting, have the same opportunities in terms of exposure and practical experience. We are continuing to grow this program at the undergraduate and graduate level to be one of the elite Sport Management degrees in the country.”
