Piano Program Project
Shorter University has a distinguished history of training quality pianists as soloists, collaborative pianists, church musicians, and teachers. In order to continue this tradition, we have initiated the Piano Program Project which provides three distinct areas of opportunity:
Phase 1: Replacing older pianos and benches in our practice rooms. Some of the pianos are more than forty years old. Also, some basic updating of the practice rooms (soundproofing, refitting, etc.) is needed.
Phase 2: Upgrades and necessary repairs on the Shigeru Kawai concert grand piano in Brookes Chapel.
Phase 3: Rebuilding the Steinway concert grand piano in Brookes Chapel (which was given in honor of renowned piano teacher Ms. Elizabeth Buday).
We invite you to partner with us as we invest in the lives of our students and their future ministries in the field of fine arts. Your contributions will allow Shorter University to continue the tradition of excellence in training future generations of outstanding musicians.
