Dr. Heath Hooper is Dean of the College of Business and a Tenured Professor of Sport Management at Shorter University. Dr. Hooper is entering his 13th year serving Shorter University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies from Reinhardt College, a Master of Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University – Irvine and a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Sport Management from North Central University.
Prior to coming to Shorter University, he worked as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for Reinhardt University for one year and also was an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for two years at Young Harris College. Dr. Hooper teaches courses at the undergraduate level and within the graduate program of Sport Management.
In the community of Rome, GA, Dr. Hooper serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce and as an executive board member for the Rome Commission on Children and Youth Non-Profit organization. Within the landscape of Sport Management, Dr. Hooper serves as a Board of Director’s member for the Commission of Sport Management Association (COSMA).
Dr. Hooper and his wife, AnnMarie Hooper and two children, Ty Hooper and Lilliann Hooper reside in Rome, GA.
