Children of Eden to be performed at Shorter University’s Callaway Theatre
Rome, Ga. — The Shorter University School of Fine Arts will present its fall musical Children of Eden, Thursday-Friday, Sept. 28-29, and Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 5-7, in the Callaway Theatre. All shows will start at 7:30 p.m. General Admission is $15, senior and student tickets are $10, and Shorter students get in free with student ID. Tickets are available through Shorter University’s box office at 706-233-7288.
Children of Eden is a two-act musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, who also composed Wicked and Godspell, and book by John Caird. The musical is based on the Book of Genesis. Act I explores the story of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and Act II tells the story of Noah and the Flood.
The show is directed by Sherrie Peterson, and choreographed by Faith Im. The assistant director is Jessica Bohler and the assistant choreographer is Chelsie Burks. The music director is Sue Gaukel, and the stage manager is Tempest Thomas.
The cast includes Noah Hunt as Adam; Elizabeth Drake as Eve; Blaise Philips as Cain; Alex Givens as Abel; Shelby Burgess as Seth; Quinten Hopkins as Noah; Michaela Bell as Mama Noah; Asa Stallings as Japheth; Abbey Poole as Yonah; Spencer Ross as Ham; Emma Stimpson as Aphra; D.J. Conner as Shem; Sydney Hillman as Aysha; and Chelsie Burks as Snake.
