Art Department Chair Kelly Mills’ Photos Given Feature Placement at "Academy/Academia" Exhibit
We were already super proud of Shorter University Art Department Chair Kelly Mills for having his work featured in the “Academy/Academia” exhibit at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art. Now we’ve learned that Mr. Mills’ photos were given feature placement at the entrance to the museum next to the show’s marquee wall.
Here’s what he told us about the experience: “There are some outstanding artists in this show. But my work was placed in a prominent location on a wall all by itself and across from a painting by Clayton State’s Alan Xie, who is one of Georgia’s hottest artists. He [Xie] has several large paintings on display in the High Museum’s contemporary art gallery. My work is the first thing you see when you walk into the exhibition. I was very flattered.”
We are thrilled for Mr. Mills! The Academy/Academia exhibit will be on display through March 26. For additional information, including gallery hours, visit the museum’s website at www.mariettacobbartmuseum.org.
