To become Miss Shorter University, a contestant must display her best qualities, which is a process that requires personal commitment, hard work and talent.

The winner of the Miss Shorter University Scholarship Pageant receives a $2,000 scholarship. The first runner-up receives a $500 scholarship. The second runner-up receives a $300 scholarship. The Miss Shorter University scholarship pageant provides a forum for Shorter University women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to Shorter University and to the public-at-large during the ensuing year. All contestants are in the process of completing a bachelors degree, and the winner will use the Miss Shorter scholarship award towards her education.

There are four phases of the Miss Shorter University Scholarship Pageant:

  1. Presentation and Achievement in Private Interview (25%)
  2. Lifestyle and Fitness (15%)
  3. Talent Artistic Expression (35%)
  4. On-Stage Question (5%)
  5. Evening Wear Competition (20%)
