I’m pleased to be an adjunct member of Shorter University’s Sport Management faculty. My background in sport includes playing women’s basketball at the University of Utah where I earned All-American honors. Following a stint in professional basketball in Athens, Greece, I continued my education at The University of Southern Mississippi where I completed my Masters of Science in Sport Administration and my PhD in Human Performance & Recreation while fulfilling Graduate Assistant duties in the Golden Eagle athletic department. I was fortunate to use my experience at Southern Miss in developing my dissertation research, A System for Evaluating Emergency Response Capabilities at a University Sporting Venue.
After college, I spent six and half years as a teacher, coach and athletic director in the Forsyth County School System in Cumming, GA before coming to Shorter. Currently, I am a middle school PE teacher and girls basketball coach at Thomas County Middle School in Thomasville, GA and am happily married to Dr. Philip Duplantis. We are blessed with three wonderful kids – our daughter, Anna Catherine, and our twin boys, Billy and Charlie.
