Tutoring Center

Success Starts Here / Tutoring Center with a graduation cap

The Tutoring Center at Shorter University offers free tutoring to all students enrolled in traditional courses on the Rome campus. Tutoring is offered for most courses offered to traditional students during fall and spring semesters. Students can go to the Tutoring Center for assistance with course content, general academic success skills information, and writing skills assistance. Students can attend tutoring sessions on an individual basis or within a group setting. All sessions are led by highly qualified peer tutors who have shown academic excellence in the subject in which they tutor.

Free tutoring is also available for CAPP and online students. Dr. David Webb will be available for tutoring in Math; Ms. Jill Goad will be available for tutoring in English. Tutoring will be available by appointment only. Students please contact Dr. Webb or Mrs. Goad directly via email for scheduling (dwebb@nullshorter.edu; jgoad@nullshorter.edu).

Sign-up For A Tutoring Appointment

Students must complete the Tutoring Session Request Form in order to receive an initial tutoring appointment. After the first appointment has been scheduled, students may work closely with a specific tutor on a regular basis. Students should submit the form within 1-2 business days of needing a tutoring appointment. Group Sessions provided by the Tutoring Center in addition to some Writing Skills sessions are on a walk-in basis. However, submitting the form will ensure that there will be an available appointment upon arrival. Students can sign-up on Scholar or by stopping by the Bailor Suite.
