Soar Into Shorter: Freshman Orientation Week 2010
August 16-21, 2010

Soar Into Shorter is your week! It's a time to learn more about Shorter, its amenities, and all the other new students who have decided to make Shorter their home for the next four years.

Soar Into Shorter Week is held each year starting with new student move in, which is the Saturday before classes begin. The week begins with a family cook-out on Saturday night and concludes with weekend activities.

All incoming freshman students must attend campus orientation on Monday, followed by Camp Hawk Tuesday- Thursday of this week.  On Friday, students will participate in H3: Hawks Helping Humanity Service Project.  Saturday freshman students will take part in a campus wide assessment for new students. 

There will  be fun activities planned for all Shorter University students beginning with a Welcome Back Block Party on Saturday night, August 21st, as well as other events throughout the week. Students will find out more information about Soar Into Shorter Week, Camp Hawk and Campus Orientation at their SUMMIT session in July.

Camp Hawk
August 17-19, 2010

Not to be confused with Summit, Camp Hawk is the next step in a smooth transition to Shorter University. Camp Hawk is a great opportunity for new students to experience an off-campus retreat before school starts. Make new friends, create fun memories , and enter into your first year of university with pride! Also meet staff, faculty, and student leaders who will help you feel confident as you start your life as a Shorter student! Camp Hawk is the best way to connect with your classmates and college life at Shorter!

Move-In Dates and Times Fall 2010

Freshman living on campus will check-in to their residence halls on Saturday, August 14th between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
