Soar Into Shorter Week

SUMMIT
SUMMIT is Shorter College’s new student orientation program that occurs during the summer. There are six SUMMIT sessions for incoming freshman, and one Transfer SUMMIT for transfer students.
SUMMIT is the first part of the orientation process designed to assist you in making a comfortable transition to University life at Shorter College. SUMMIT is a one-day program for new students who will be enrolling in Fall 2009. Sessions are designed to offer information to assist you in your transition to Shorter College.
Programs provide academic requirements and expectations, campus resources, involvement opportunities and the chance to meet current students. During your SUMMIT session, you will also meet with your academic adviser and register for fall classes.

SOAR INTO SHORTER WEEK!
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION
The orientation process continues with SOAR INTO SHORTER WEEK. This week is held each year starting with new student move in, which is the Saturday before classes begin. The week begins with a family cook-out on Saturday night, then the students continue the remainder of the week to help them get acquainted with the college. Students will find out more information about Soar Into Shorter Week at their SUMMIT session.

SHORTER ORIENTATION STAFF (SOS)
SOS assists the Office of Student Activities in conducting activities for orientation programs, including Summit sessions and Soar Into Shorter Week. Interview process required.
