Professional Studies degree programs target goal-oriented individuals who seek personal and professional growth. Programs have been customized for individuals with little previous college experience and for those with extensive educational backgrounds.
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Shorter College's School of Business Management offers three undergraduate and two graduate level degree programsBelow is a listing of these programs with links to

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES
Associate Level
Associate of Science in Business - this degree provides an excellent foundation in general education while preparing students for continued studies toward the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Human Services, or Bachelor of Science in Management. This program has two components:
- Alpha-A component - for professionals with 0-29 hours of transfer credit from a regionally accredited institution and a cumulative grade point average (of all attempted collegiate work) of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale). (Students with a GPA below 2.0 may apply for academic renewal admission if qualifications are met.)

- Alpha-B component - for professionals with 30-49 hours of transfer credit from a regionally accredited institution, a cumulative grade point average (of all attempted collegiate work) of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale), and successful completion ("C" or above) of freshman grammar and composition (6 hours) and college algebra (3 hours). (Students with a GPA below 2.0 may apply for academic renewal admission if qualifications are met.)

Bachelor's Level
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - The BSBA degree program is designed for the business student and consists of 48 core credit hours. This core includes courses in accounting, marketing, economics, law, business communications, statistics, leadership and management.
In addition to the general requirements for acceptance into the Professional Studies undergraduate program, professionals seeking this degree must meet the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specific requirements:
- A minimum of 50 credit hours from: a regionally accredited college or university; professionally recognized college or university; or a combination of college credit and credit earned through national testing programs, ACE military training evaluations, ACE/PONSI professional training evaluations or documented learning evaluations. (A maximum of 66 credit hours can transfer from a community college, and a maximum of 30 semester hours can transfer from non-collegiate credit).
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. (Students with a GPA below 2.0 may apply for academic renewal admission if qualifications are met.)

Bachelor of Science in Management - The BSM degree program is designed for the undergraduate level management student, and consists of 46 core credit hours. This core includes courses in team development, conflict management, professional communications, financial and information management, human behavior, problem solving, critical analysis and decision making, systems thinking and change management. In addition to the general requirements for acceptance into the Professional Studies undergraduate program, professionals seeking this degree must meet the Bachelor of Science in Management specific requirements:
- A minimum of 50 credit hours of from: a regionally accredited college or university; professionally recognized college or university; or a combination of college credit and credit earned through national testing programs, ACE military training evaluations, ACE/PONSI professional training evaluations or documented learning evaluations. Master's Level
Master of Business Administration - The MBA degree program is designed for the graduate level business student and consists of 37 core credit hours. This core includes courses in business management that cover topics such as executive communications, accounting, economics, legal issues, marketing, human relations and statistical analysis.
