Letter from the editor

During 2007, the editors of your newspaper sat around the newsroom and thought up a wild though - a newspaper with no paper.

We envisioned a news source that worked 24 hours a day to provide Shorter College with the latest in information.

In some aspects, our vision was a flying success. But in others, we failed.

Overall, I am very happy with the progress that The Periscope has made over the past year. We successfully transitioned into the new media age with interactive features, exclusive content, videos and many other new mediums.

For 2008 - 2009, The Periscope will once again receive a make-over. We will be returning to print for 10 issues per semester. However, our online site will continue to produce videos, interactive articles and special features.

The new format will once again be designed around you - the Shorter College student. We exist to provide you with the highest quality reports of news, and we will accomplish that goal through several different mediums next year.

Over the summer, our staff will be moving to a new home- the second floor of MFA. We will now occupy a portion of the Broadcasting suite and the Communication department conference room.

Overall, its been an incredible semester. Our staff has come together in a way that I have never seen before. I am glad to call myself an editor for The Periscope during this incredible time of media invention.

The Periscope will hit stands in August! We look forward to serving you for another year in history!
