Turok: Dinosaur Huntor brings back a classic with letdowns
Pixel Pirate Game Review

Crime Scenemctcampus.com.

However the action seen in this screenshot, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter provides little action with other dinosaurs.

I can still remember the fanciful days of youth. Tired of Mario and Pilot Wings, I went into the local "Video Time" hoping for something new; something dangerous; something like Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

This Native American death-dealing dinosaur dynamo touched my heart and my trigger finger. Turok taught me that man and dinosaur can never co-exist, and the only answer to avoiding death is a futuristic shotgun to the face.

Over the years I almost forgot about Turok. Since his first game, Turok starred in a handful of terrible sequels. Even the company that produced Turok, Acclaim, was forced to rid itself of the license rights for the game. Propaganda Games decided to start the entire series from scratch. The new storyline is set in the far future.

Turok is a space marine set out with Whiskey Company, an elite combat unit sent to track down the man who trained Turok. Apparently, this commander has gone AWOL and Turok is the only one who can track him down.

A missile strikes and sends Turok and Whiskey Company all over the planet that his former mentor has taken over. It is up to Turok to find his Missing comrades and survive a harsh dinosaur ridden environment.

The good news about this game is the stalking and hunting feature. Turok has the ability to stalk his prey, be it man or dinosaur, using only his knife and bow. For the players who are not of the sneaky variety, Turok also has a cornucopia of weaponry to use against those unlucky enough to cross his path.

One of the biggest drawbacks to this title is the lack of actual dinosaur fighting. While the game features a revamped storyline that is far superior to its predecessor, the lack of dinosaurs leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously- Turok is a DINOSAUR HUNTER above all things.

In addition, the multi player feature is really nothing new. The only difference Turok has is the numerous NPC raptors wandering the maps.

The new Turok is an awesome new start to a classic game but really doesn’t bring much new to the next generation experience. I suggest giving this one game a little time and then picking up a cheap copy out of the bargain bin.
