Carrie is still disturbed that Doc Allee broke her anatomy cat's large intestine in half.

Catie is doing it all - everything - on her own.

Shirley is wondering how she'll make it as a psychologist.

Carmen Acevedo Butcher has been a member of the Shorter College faculty since 2002, currently serving as the scholar-in-residence.

Her recent publications include Man of Blessing: A Life of St. Benedict, which was released in March 2006 by Paraclete Press and reprinted in May 2006, and God of Mercy: Ælfric’s Sermons and Theology, which was released in 2006 by Mercer University Press. In spring 2007, she released her latest work, “Hildegard of Bingen: A Spiritual Reader,” through Paraclete Press. She has also published a number of poems and essays in collections and journals.


The Chimes is the student-produced magazine of poetry, prose and artwork created by Shorter College students, faculty, staff and community members. The Chimes works with The Periscope to present the Shorter and Rome community with excellent pieces of art and literature.
