Writing and Grammar. Encompasses the following topics: The basic elements of sentences: sentence fragments; comma splices; fused sentences; verbs and verbals; agreement of subjects and verbs; pronouns and case; agreement of pronouns and antecedents; capitals; and punctuation.

Essay Writing. Encompasses the following topics: Getting ideas, drafting, and revising; principles of paragraphs and essays; and developing paragraphs and essays with evidence.

A note on the terms "Dictionary" and "Encyclopedia": When searching under dictionary-related subject headings, you may find titles that begin with or contain the word, "encyclopedia." This is because the two terms are often used interchangeably. Also, an encyclopedic work might be referred to as a "dictionary" simply because its entries are arranged in the style of a dictionary-i.e., alphabetically.
