The mission of the Shorter University Fraternity and Sorority Life is to enhance the university experience through scholarship, community service, philanthropy, leadership, and social interaction.

We strive to uphold the traditions and values of our fraternities and sororities by promoting strong bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

Our fraternity and sorority community consists of these three sororities; Epsilon Sigma, Phi Mu, and Zeta Tau Alpha, and these three fraternities; Chi Phi, Delta Sigma Phi, Pi Kappa Phi.

Philanthropy: Children's Miracle Network

Founded in 1852, Phi Mu is a women's organization which provides personal and academic development, service to others, commitment to excellence, and lifelong friendship through a shared tradition. Phi Mu encourages its members to imagine, believe and achieve their aspirations. Phi Mu contributes over $500,000 annually to the Children's Miracle Network. Phi Mu Chapters support 170 hospitals throughout the country.

Zeta Tau Alpha

Zeta Tau Alpha National Fraternity

Nickname: ZTA and Zeta
Colors: Turquoise and silver
Symbols: Crown and strawberry
Mascot: Pink flamingo
Philanthropy: Breast Cancer Awareness

Zeta Tau Alpha, founded in 1898, is the 3rd largest national sorority in the United States. Stretching from coast to coast, our sisters contribute their time and talents towards spreading breast cancer awareness to women. Collectively, ZTA has donated $1.6 million to the Susan G. Komen Foundation since 1992. Our chapter at Shorter University also plans fun sisterhood events such as formals, date nights, mixers, intramural sports, and inter-greek activities.

Philanthropy: Various local philanthropies

Epsilon Sigma is a local service and social sorority present on "the hill" since 1879. They have the opportunity to serve the Rome community by working with local nursing homes, participating in yard cleanups, and volunteering for other local organizations.
