This weekend is designed for all parents, family members, and friends, in order to better acquaint you with the faculty and staff, the organizations and activities, and the overall Shorter experience. SCHEDULE Friday, September 26 Pep Rally 9:00 pm Front Circle Comedian Cary Long 9:30 pm Brookes Chapel About Cary Long: Cary got his start on the hit television show Star Search with Ed McMahon, and has since been seen on Evening at the Improv and VH-1 Stand-up Spotlight with Rosie O'Donnell, as well as two recent appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Clean, funny, and a must to go see! Saturday, September 27 Hawk Hustle 5K Registration required. Deadline is 9/25/08. To register, please visit www.active.com and type "Hawk Hustle" in the event search box. Carnival Bring the kids and join us for inflatables, games and more! Alumni Baseball Game Friends and Family Welcome and Annual Parents Association Meeting Shorter College President Dr. Harold E. Newman will address our visitors with words of welcome. During this program, you will have the opportunity to hear from administrators about what is happening on campus. You will also be able to learn more about Shorter's Parents Association. Tailgating and Alumni Auction Bring your grill and all the fixin's and set up your own tailgate party in the Cancer Navigator's parking lot located adjacent to Barron Stadium at 316 West 5th Street. **Homecoming Football Game vs. Faulkner Alumni award winners, Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees and Homecoming Court will be recognized. Sunday, September 28 Alumni Led Worship Service Featuring a message by former Shorter College president Dr. Larry McSwain and special music by Proclamation alumni and current members. Fall Baseball Game ** For free tickets to the Homecoming Football Game, you must RSVP to Whitney Mosley at wmosley@shorter.edu or 706-233-7315 by Monday, September 22, 2008. Each family will receive two free guest tickets per student (additional tickets may be purchased from the Shorter College Box Office, 706-233-7288). These tickets may be picked up at the Check-in table before the 11:00am Welcome Meeting in Brookes Chapel on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
