President's Letter Dear Shorter Family, Welcome to Shorter University! On behalf of the Student Government Association, I would like to welcome you to the Hill! Whether you are just beginning your journey or returning for the last time, I wish you the best of luck this year! As a member of the student body, SGA is here to represent and serve you. You are invited and are welcomed to the Student Government Association meetings which are on Wednesdays at 5:15pm in the Austin Moses Room or to come to the SGA office during office hours in the Fitton Student Union to voice any concerns. This is going to be a fantastic year on the Hill, and though some things have changed we still have a deep passion for the betterment of Shorter. SGA has plans to improve the campus physically and spiritually.

Please look to your SGA senators as role models of how to embrace a desire to improve. I hold SGA to a high standard of professionalism and invite you to do the same. The SGA is here to serve the student body, and being a member is more than a title or something to put on a résumé. It is a commitment to serve the needs and address the desires of the student body.   As an organization, SGA has a substantial impact on campus policy and issues that concern our students. Also, I hope to make SGA more prominent on campus by providing better quality activities for the student body, and promoting an increased amount of school spirit for our athletic, performance, and other exhibition events.

I hope that your Shorter experience is as wonderful as mine has been. The summer after my freshman year, I began to develop back issues. They progress to the point where I had to medically withdraw from Shorter, but the love, prayer, and support that I received from the faculty, staff, and students is an example of what makes Shorter stand out from others. It is our desire to show the love of Christ in all that we do.
