    LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

The Office of Student Life offers two leadership programs. Northwest Crescent Leadership Alliance and Hill Climbers. Hill Climbers is offered for freshmen, and NWCLA is offered to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Both programs have an application process.

Calling All Leaders

Calling All Leaders is a leadership series comprised of six different workshops focusing on different leadership topics and skills that are desirable in student leaders. The series takes place once month and last for approximately 60 minutes in length, including the following topics:

  • teamwork
  • organization
  • communication
  • passion
  • male-female oriented leadership
  • and motivation.

Each session focuses on a different topic presented by a different speaker. Guest speakers from all over the nation come to Shorter University to help train our future leaders of tomorrow in fun and exciting ways. In hopes of having well trained candidates for leadership positions on campus, students need to attend at least three of the sessions to be considered for a leadership position. It’s not only beneficial but imperative that students who desire to become Resident Assistants, Orientation Leaders, Peer Mentors, or Shorter Relation Society members attend the series.

2012-2013 Sessions

Sessions are held in Austin Moses Room from 6 pm to 7 pm.
