A Day for the Kids
Shorter College hosted 85 children and sponsors from the Georgia Baptist Children's Home on Saturday, Oct. 14. The day began with a visit with Shorter’s Head Football Coach Phil Jones, Quarterback Alex Jackson, and Defensive Lineman Joshua Pidgeon. Next, the children enjoyed games led by members of Shorter's Baptist Collegiate Ministries group, like Carissa Scoggins. After attending a barbecue luncheon prepared by Trustee Chairman Dr. Nelson Price and Butch Thompson, the GBCH group watched the Hawks battle UVA-Wise in football. The visit was spearheaded by Dr. John Head (’87), vice president for enrollment management.
