FIRST ANNUAL
H3: HAWKS HELPING HUMANITY
FRESHMAN SERVICE PROJECT
AUGUST 22, 2009
The Class of 2013 already made history as the largest incoming freshman class in
Shorter’s history. And on Saturday, Aug. 22, the students earned another distinction as 240
of the 350 new students volunteered at 23 locations around Rome during the first annual
H3: Hawks Helping Humanity.
This fall, Shorter has yet another record enrollment as the total number of traditional students tops 1,200 for the first time. “We have achieved record numbers in every category, including freshmen, transfers and returning students,” said Dr. Harold E. Newman, Shorter president. “We have had considerable growth compared to the 1,136 students we enrolled last fall. I am very proud of the hard work and success of our Admissions staff, coaches, and other members of the faculty and staff who have helped recruit and retain these students.”
