In the past twenty-one years (1985 to June 2006):

84% (58 out of 69) of our medical school applicants have been accepted to medical schools. The national average has been less that 50% during this time period. Medical schools accepting our students include the following:

Eight of Ten faculty in the Department of Natural Sciences hold a doctoral degree representing Boston College, Clemson University, University of Georgia, the Ohio State University, the University of Kentucky, the University of Michigan, and the University of the Orange Free State, Republic of South Africa.

We have 80 returning science majors at present and are expecting 88+ new freshmen and transfer science majors in our fall 2007 class. Yet, we still maintain a very close personal relationship with our students.

Medicine (3 out of 4 students who applied)

  • Three (3) students accepted to Mercer University School of Medicine, Macon, Georgia

Veterinary Medicine (1 out of 1 student who applied)

  • One (1) student accepted to University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine

Physician Assistant (1 out of 1 student who applied)

  • One (1) student accepted to both the University of South Alabama Physician Assistant Program and Trevecca Nazarene University Graduate Physician Assistant Program

Physical Therapy (1 out of 1 student who applied)

  • One (1) student accepted to Georgia State University, in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

Nursing (1 out of 1 student who applied)

  • One (1) student accepted to Georgia Baptist College Bachelors of Nursing Program.

Graduate Schools (9 out of 9 students who applied)

  • Three (3) students accepted into the Masters of Biology Program at (1) Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tennessee and (2) University of West Georgia, Carrollton, Georgia.
  • One (1) student accepted into the Environmental Engineering Program, at the University of Alabama, Huntsville, Alabama
  • One (1) student accepted into the Aiken Masters of Science in Applied Clinical Psychology Program, at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina
  • One (1) student accepted into the Pharmacognasy Ph.D. Program, at the University of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi
  • One (1) student accepted to three (3) Universities in the Masters Program for Environmental Science at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Baylor University in Waco, Texas and at Texas A & M University, College Station, Texas and will be attending Baylor University, Waco, Texas
  • One (1) student accepted to two (2) Universities in the Ph.D. Program in Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the University of West Virginia, Morgantown, West Virginia and in the Ph.D. Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology Program at the University of Alabama, Huntsville, Alabama and will be attending the University of West Virginia, Morgantown, West Virginia
  • One (1) student accepted to two (2) Universities in the Ph.D. Program in Cell and Molecular Biology Program, at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas and in the Biophysics Ph.D. Program at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio and will be attending the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas
