International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. Monday, November 14

10:00 am - Exploring Impressionism

Dr. Sarah Cantrell and Thomas Partain will discuss how impressionism revolutionized painting in the 19th century. Lindsey Woodall will also share about her summer study abroad program in Spain. (MFA 300)

4:00 pm - International Team Trivia

Bring your friends and play trivia for great prizes! Are you world-savvy? If not, come have fun and learn something new. Teams up to 4 people. (Martha’s Cellar)

6:30 pm - International Film Series

“Elsa and Fred” After losing his wife, Alfredo feels disturbed and confused until Elsa bursts into his life like a whirlwind. She is determined to teach him that the time he has left to live is precious and should be enjoyed. Spanish with subtitles. (ST-Basement—Room B)

3:00 pm - Global Perspectives Forum

Dr. Brian Woodall, Director of Graduate Programs, Georgia Institute of Technology, will discuss “Embracing Japan: The Impact of the March 11 Triple Disasters.” (Austin Moses Room)

Thursday, November 17

3:30 pm - International Dessert Contest

11:30 am-1:30 pm - International Luncheon
