Justin Pettegrew received his Bachelors degree from Pillsbury Baptist College, his M.A. in history from Minnesota State Mankato and his Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Pettegrew taught at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI prior to joining Shorter’s faculty in fall 2009. Areas of teaching specialization include United States history during the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era. His research interests include religious and urban American history.
