Welcome!
Welcome to web site of the School of Business Administration at Shorter College. We are excited about the accomplishments of our faculty and students and hope that you will join us on our journey.
The School of Business Administration has over 300 students, or about one-third of Shorter students, majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, or Sport Management. Over 50% of athletes are Business majors, many of whom are choosing Sport Management as a career focus. The School of Business Administration also boasts a large number of international students.
We are proud of the heritage of Shorter College and the tradition of offering a rich educational experience in a Christian environment. We are excited about the creation of The Hopkins Institute for Business Ethics. This institute, made possible by the generous gift of Col. (ret.) and Mrs. Harvard V. Hopkins, not only offers instruction in ethical decision making, but also provides funds for an annual forum featuring a notable leader from a variety of fields including business, government, and medical communities.
In a recent study of GPAs at Shorter College, Accounting majors earned a 3.61, the highest at Shorter. The School of Business Administration also offers a 150-hour program of study in Accounting, which is covered by HOPE and prepares students to sit for the CPA exam at graduation. In addition, the minor in Forensic Accounting has created significant interest among students and potential employers.
These are exciting times at Shorter College, and we hope that you will visit us “On the Hill.” Please let us know what additional information you need that will help you to make a decision to become a part of the School of Business Administration at Shorter College. If you would like more information, please email us at soba@shorter.edu. We look forward to hearing from you.
