Bachelor of Business Administration
General Studies
This Bachelor of Business Administration program will prepare individuals to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions and processes of firms and organizations around the world. The students will be prepared to deal with every day challenges in the business world.
Management Track
The management track offers a fundamental understanding in the areas of finance, statistics, accounting, marketing, and management. The studies focus on the resources of an organization and how they are used to achieve company objectives. Students develop an understanding of business language as well as the ability to analyze business problems existing in today’s workplace.
Marketing Track
Students who enroll in the marketing track will learn to identify and assess the consumer and industrial market needs, develop marketing strategies to meet those needs through primary and secondary marketing research, and create advertising campaigns.
Career Opportunities
After graduating individuals could choose to specialize in areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, and statistics and can find a job in almost any busines-related field.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
This degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in the various fields of accounting and management, including careers in public accounting firms, corporate firms, and governmental and not-for-profit organizations. The program emphasizes a broad background in the arts and sciences through elective courses outside the Department of Business as well as business and accounting courses.
Career Opportunities
There are many career opportunities in accounting. They include public accountant focusing on tax and auditing services, industry positions such as controller, CFO or internal auditor, cost accountant, forensic accounting, the Internal Revenue Service, and accountants working on local and state governments and not-for-profit enterprises. You might be able to find jobs in places such as corporations, public accounting firms, and government.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting - CPA Track
The BBA accounting CPA track curriculum is designed to prepare the student for an accounting career in private accounting. The 5-year BBA is designed to prepare the student who wishes to pursue certification as a public accountant (CPA).
To be eligible for the uniform written Certified Public Accountant Examination in Georgia, a person must have completed a total of 150 semester hours of postsecondary education, including a baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university. This education must include at least 30 semester hours in certain specified accounting subject areas.
Career Opportunities
By completing this degree program, students will qualify for the uniform written CPA Exam in Georgia, and prepare themselves for careers in public accounting, private industry, or governmental organizations.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Sports Management
Sports Management at Shorter College focuses on the preparation of professionals qualified to operate sport organizations, including private enterprises, government or public employment settings, and commercial ventures.
This program involves students with appropriate coursework and field experience, assisting students in receiving a high level of competence in the Sports Management field. Professional preparation develops capable sport management specialists able to apply creative communication, leadership, and managerial skills in an array of positions in the sport industry, including sales, marketing, public relations, operations, facilities, and event management.
Today the Sports Management field is developing rapidly. It is one of the fastest growing programs in the country. Competition for position in the Sports Management industry also continued to grow just as the programs in the classrooms has. The quality of professional preparation in Sports Management program is essential to be competitive in this field of work.

Bachelor of Science in Economics
The economics degree at Shorter College is a study of the theory and facts of economics in both society and business. This degree incorporates predominantly economic classes and business classes with a few liberal arts and science classes intermixed. This degree can lead into many fields but many majors continue their education into graduate degrees in public administration, business administration, or law. This major requires 126 credit hours and is usually completed in four years.
