    SITES FOR TEXTS AND TRANSLATIONS

The Lied and Art Song Texts Page is an archive of texts used in Lieder and other classical Art Songs as well as in many choral works and other types of classical vocal pieces. Several thousand translations to English, French, German, Spanish and other languages are also offered.

Two sites that will offer you a general translation of texts are:

Google Translations
Babel Fish

Sites for IPA

IPA Source is a growing site where you can search by composer, poet, collection or title of a piece. If they have the song completed, you will see a word-for-word translation, a working transaltion, as well as the IPA.

As described at the website The Diction Domain™, this website is dedicated to providing information about language diction for singing. It contains a database of links to websites, books and other resources. This site is primarily intended as a reference for singers and teachers of singing diction, but welcomes all visitors.

In order to see IPA characters on your computer, you must download the IPA fonts. To do so, please click here.
