MUSIC EDUCATION SITES
The National Association for Music Education has a fantastic site that should be bookmarked on every Music Education Majors computer.
Another wonderful site to explore is K-12 Resources for Music Educators. There are twenty or more links to sites for Vocal/Choral Teachers.
The Music Education Madness Site has the following quote at the top of its homepage:
"Music Education: Experiencing the Wonders of It and Surviving with a Smile On Your Face".
The site is, and I quote from the homepage: a "gathering place for music educators of all levels of expertise. In our profession, we have the unique opportunity to mold students not only in an academic sense, but in an aesthetic, cultural, emotional, physical, and even spiritual sense.
With all the avenues open up to us, it's only natural that we want to share what has worked for us. Whether you teach elementary music, band, choir, orchestra, preschool music, give private lessons, teach college music courses, or are a college student, this is the place to find new ideas and contribute ideas of your own!"
The Music Teachers National Association is a site with information regarding competitions, resources, programs and projects, as well as a site for the American Music Teacher (AMT). This particular portion of the site AMT defines its purpose as providing "articles, reviews and regular columns that inform, educate and challenge music teachers and foster excellence in the music teaching profession."
