Guys and Dolls
Book by Abe Burrows and Joe Swerling; Music and lyrics by Frank Loesser
April 18-19, 2008 at 8pm and April 20, 2008 at 2pm
Rome City Auditorium

With the curtain opening in New York City, Guys and Dolls introduces us to a cast of legendary characters. Sarah Brown is out to reform the evildoers of Times Square while Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love. Adelaide and Nathan Detroit have been engaged her 14 years, and perhaps it is her continued unmarried status that brings out Adelaide’s chronic illness. With numbers like “ Adelaide’s Lament,” “Luck Be a Lady,” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” it’s no wonder that the score has kept audiences coming back for more than 50 years!

Girl in purple dress about to faint

Group of guys singing

Man drinking coffee/girl looks at him with worried expression

Girls dancing

Three guys singing with pieces of paper in their hands

Group singing with hands in the air

Three doctors with a girl
