Shorter University Theatre and Musical Theatre students have an excellent record of dominating Theatrical competitions and auditions, and of securing professional work at top Theatres. Shorter's Summer Art Institute provides an excellent opportunity for you to study with some of the professional actors who make up Shorter's Theatre faculty. Gain experience from working professionals on what it takes to make it in this demanding and competitive field.

Participants will receive individual instruction on scene work and monologues, as well as coaching on audition techniques for universities and professional theatres.  In addition to instruction in Acting and Auditioning, students will also take part in classes in Stage Combat, Movement, Resume and Headshot preparation, The "Business" of Acting, and more.

The faculty’s hands-on approach to individual growth ensures that you will receive the tools and training to take your skills to the next level.
