April Hill joined the voice faculty at Shorter College in August 2008 as an Assistant Professor of Music. As the music theater specialist and music director, she directs musicals, teachs the Music Theater Lab, and applied voice lessons. Last spring, she visited Rome as the guest artist musical director for Shorter College Theater’s production of Guys and Dolls.

Living in North Carolina most of her life, April received both her MM in Vocal Performance and her BM in Choral Music Education from UNC-Greensboro. Prior to coming to Shorter, April taught voice at Elon University in Elon, NC and musically directed Cabaret there in fall 2007. University of NC at Greensboro, she conducted Urinetown and Bat Boy.

Past shows include The Full Monty, A Chorus Line, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz, Falsettos, Closer Than Ever, and Side By Side By Sondheim with NC professional and community theaters. April has been Mezzo-Soprano soloist with Greensboro Oratorio Society (NC), Choral Society of Greensboro (NC), Alamance Chorale (NC), Front Street Methodist Church (NC) and various churches. She has sung professionally with the Bel Canto Company (Greensboro, NC) and the Carolina Chamber Chorale (Charleston, SC).
