AUGUST 2007

August 30 - Commemorating the beginning of Shorter College's 135th academic year, the campus community enjoyed a day of tradition and camaraderie on Friday, Aug. 24. Following the morning's Convocation ceremony, Dr. Debra Faust, vice president of student affairs and dean of students, and Dr. Craig Shull, provost, led the freshman class to the top of the Hill where they were welcomed through the gates by upperclassmen, faculty and staff.
A picnic lunch and street fair during the afternoon provided an opportunity for
everyone to interact and celebrate a new fall semester. The day concluded with
departmental meetings and an ice cream social.
