January 27 - On Friday, January 29th, the Shorter Chorale will be performing for the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Savannah. Each year, music educators from the state attend the annual music conference to attend workshops, hear performances of outstanding  school, college and university and community ensembles, and visit with their fellow colleagues.  It is an honor to be chosen to perform, and the Chorale is delighted to be included in this year’s roster.

There will be a reception for Shorter music alumni at Vic’s on the River in Savannah on Thursday, January 28 th from 5-7 pm.  Alumni wishing to attend should RSVP to Chip Mitchell at cmitchell@shorter.edu.

January 20 - A new Miss Shorter College was crowned last Thursday night at the DeSoto Theatre in downtown Rome. Hannah Freeman, second from left, was all smiles as she received the coveted crown from former Miss Shorter College Jenica Reed. Hannah is surrounded by Miss Shorter runner-ups Grace Nelson, Kaitlin Pauley and Myra Compton.

January 13 - Freshmen students Brenna Moore, Andrea Cooper and Emily Branch share a conversation on the way to the Shorter Post Office. The campus was busy with activity this week as students returned to classes on Monday, Jan. 11. The start of the new year also brought with it a record spring semester enrollment of traditional students at Shorter.
