Flag football group photo

October 14 - Move over Hawks. There’s a new football team in town. The intramural Track Squad has been crowned the 2009 flag football champions. Kudos to team captain, Nicholas Dodson, for leading the squad to victory.

Come out and support Shorter College and the Track Squad as they play Georgia Highlands College on Oct. 28 for the hometown championship!  The game starts at 6 p.m. at Georgia Highlands. Oh, and don’t forget that the varsity football team faces Kentucky Christian this Saturday (Oct. 17) for Homecoming. That game begins at 1:30 p.m. at Barron Stadium.

Campus Minister David Roland with Audrey Speight, Reagan O'Brien, Katie Clegg and Lauren Lee.

October 7 - Shorter College Campus Minister David Roland is surrounded by the group of BCM volunteers that helped paint the inside of a flood-damaged home in Trion last Thursday. Volunteers are: (from left to right) Audrey Speight, Reagan O’Brien, Katie Clegg and Lauren Lee.

The group left the Hill at 7 a.m. and worked until noon, painting one of the large rooms inside the 1940s-era home. “One of our missions at BCM is to provide students with a chance to grow in their faith through community ministries,” Roland said. “This was a prime example of that mission in action.”
