September 25 - As part of homecoming week at Shorter College, students gathered on the campus lawn Thursday afternoon to take part in Hill Fest. Students were able to participate in activities like Frisbee and football, along with unique events like fake sumo wrestling and sand art creations. In the photo above, Shorter sophomores Chrissy James, right, and Michelle Stephens, fill glass tubes with multi-colored sand.

September 10 - A last rose of summer caught the eye of photographer Kalem Wilson as he walked by the Sheffield-Thompson Administration Building. The roses, a new addition to the front circle, are part of an ongoing project to beautify the “front door the campus” and create a pedestrian-friendly environment in the heart of campus.

September 3 - This view from Convocation 2008 illustrates Shorter’s record-breaking enrollment for the fall semester. A total of 1,145 students enrolled for the semester, up from 1,035 last fall.
That total includes 345 freshmen (the large sea of green in the photo!) and 115 transfer students. Fifty-one percent of the incoming freshmen were in the top 25 percent of their high school class. They come from 55 different counties in Georgia, 14 other states, and 14 different countries.
