June 12, 2013 - Recent high school graduates were awarded the Shorter University Presidential Scholarship. They will begin classes at Shorter in August 2013.
The Presidential Scholarship provides tuition for eight semesters (for incoming freshmen), excluding summers. To qualify for this scholarship, a student must hold at least a 3.75 grade point average and a 1200 SAT (Critical Reading & Math) or 26 ACT score. Scholarships recipients must then maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average at Shorter.
Meredith Grace Howard is the daughter of Scott and Lori Howard of Acworth, Ga. She is a recent graduate of Pebblebrook High School Performing Arts Magnet, Mableton, Ga. Meredith participated in the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. She was awarded the Georgia Merit Scholarship and also attended the 2012 Governors Honors at Valdosta State University as a participant in vocal performance. She is also a member of Four Points Church in Acworth.
Cody Michael Moore is the son of Maryjon Moore of Huntsville, Ala. Cody is a recent graduate of Virgil I. Grisson High School. At Grissom, Cody maintained a 4.22 GPA while participating the National Honor Society. He was a National Merit Commended student. He was also very active in his church, Aldersgate United Methodist. He plans to run track and cross country for Shorter.
Perry Brice Prather is the son of Perry and Cassandra Prather of LaGrange. He is a recent graduate of LaGrange High School, where he was in the top 5% of his senior class and a distinguished Honor Graduate, a member of the 4.0 Booster Club and served as the President of FBLA.
