Senior Susanna polley receives prestigious Nolle Scholarship & Alpha Chi named star chapter
In addition, to be named a Star Chapter, members must host at least one scholarly program on campus during the academic year. This year, the officers chose to co-sponsor a poet’s visit and also combine scholarship and service by offering a resume and interview workshop to graduating seniors. The workshop was presented by Alpha Chi Sponsor, Dr. Kathi Vosevich, with Shorter’s Director of Financial Aid Colleen Lonergan.
Alpha Chi officers for 2011-2012, the year for which Shorter won its most recent Star Chapter Award, include Jocelyn Tow, president; Susanna Polley, vice president; Megan Seddon, secretary; and Trae Zablan, treasurer. Officers for 2012-2013 were Amanda Whigham, president; Tori Nelson, vice president; Susanna Polley, secretary; Ryan Jennings, treasurer; and April Croft, director.
“These students are true servant leaders,” Vosevich said, “and being part of an academic honor society that spans all disciplines and majors is definitely a great achievement for them – and an opportunity to serve as examples to others. Earning the Star Chapter Award for three years running is no easy task.”
