Shorter University welcomes Rev. Jacob Connell as chapel speaker

April 11, 2012 - Shorter University welcomed Rev. Jacob Connell, Worship Pastor at Gateway Church in Effingham, Ga., as guest speaker during chapel services on Tuesday.

Rev. Connell, who received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Ashford University, and has served as worship and youth pastor at several churches in south Georgia, challenged attendees to follow God’s plan for their lives. Reading from Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11, he reminded students to have trust and courage in God for His plan is always perfect.

Rev. Connell is also a musician and songwriter and is the son of Dr. John S. Connell who serves as the Chair of Christian Studies at Shorter University. Rev. Connell and his wife, Sunny, live in Pooler, Ga., with their children, Katie, age 9, and John, age 7.
