Casey Bond, actor and former San Francisco Giant, visits Character Education class

March 27, 2012 - Casey Bond, an actor and former player for the San Francisco Giants, who appeared opposite Brad Pitt in the Hollywood film, “Moneyball,” visited the Shorter University campus Tuesday morning.

Bond spoke to students in Rick Johnson’s Character Education class regarding his stint as a professional athlete and his current career as an actor. He encouraged students to follow their dreams and explore their interests. “I went from playing ball to acting in movies; that was quite a change. I had always been interested in acting, but didn’t realize how much I liked it until college,” Bond told the students. “I have found that a lot of the time, people will let fear talk them out of really following their interests and passions. Don’t let that happen. Give it a shot. Don’t be afraid to try.”
