Shorter University welcomes Frank Cox as guest speaker during weekly chapel service

March 13, 2012 - Dr. Frank Cox was welcomed to the Shorter University campus as guest speaker for weekly chapel service.

The message that Dr. Cox delivered focused on defeating temptations. “Just as God has a plan for your life, Satan has a plan also. He wants to destroy the wonderful life that God has planned for you,” Dr. Cox said. “I firmly believe that there is a spiritual battle going on between God and Satan today.”

Dr. Cox provided his hearers with three scripture-based questions to ask when faced with temptation: If I do this, can I give thanks to God? (taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:18), If I do that, can I do it in the name of Jesus? (based on Colossians 3:17), and If I do this, will it bring glory to God? (taken from 1 Corinthians 10:31).
