Trey Smagur

Shorter University student Trey Smagur named overall winner in state voice competition

November 30, 2011 - Shorter University junior Trey Smagur was recently named overall winner in the Georgia chapter of the Music Teacher’s National Association voice competition.

Smagur, a resident of Clarkesville, Ga., presented a 25-minute program and competed against singers from all over the state of Georgia, including graduate-level students.

He will now advance to the district competition that will be held in January. Smagur is the vocal student of Chuck Chandler, Shorter University’s assistant professor of voice.
