Rome Action Ministries' Bill Davies speaks to Shorter students
October 6, 2011 -
Bill Davies, public relations coordinator for Action Ministries-Rome, visited the Shorter University campus Wednesday afternoon and spoke to a group of Shorter Learning Community students.
Davies informed students about Rome’s Action Ministries program that seeks to help homeless and financially challenged individuals break the cycle of hunger, homelessness and poverty.
Most recently, Rome Action Ministries assisted with the distribution of more than 50,000 pounds of food during “Jesus in the Park,” a free community event held last month at Ridge Ferry Park. Four of Shorter’s Learning Community classes volunteered during this year’s event, helping with food distribution and special activities for children.
